Novi Boys were back in action to kick off the new year with a Friday night rematch against the Colts of Troy High School lead by their legendary coach Gary Fralick, who recently won the 400th career game in his illustrious career. Unfortunately, the ‘Cats became part of the list of victims as they lost 59-47. Jiovanni Miles led the way for Novi with 11 points as the team was undone by turnovers and some cold 3 point shooting. The JV and freshman won their games. Bryce Lubin returned from injury and scored 18 points to go along with 3 assists and 4 steals in a nice all around game. Freshman won 57-45, leading the entire first half and went into the fourth quarter up three. After the first possession of the fourth, Troy tied the game up. Novi then went on a 19-0 run where Cole Thibadeau hit 3 huge threes in a row on three straight possessions. Leading scorers were Will Klucevek and Danny Groechel with 10 points each and Cole Thibadeau with 9.
Tuesday saw all 3 teams in for a rough ride at Canton, losing all three in blowout fashion.
All 3 teams are back on the court Friday at Brighton.
