Wildcats News · Novi Junior Cats Wrestling Club

The Novi Junior Cats Wrestling Club is in its 6th year. This program is designed for kids in 1st – 8th grade to introduce young athletes to the great sport of wrestling.

The basic fundamentals of the sport will be introduced including; proper technique, conditioning and mat strategy. Along with life lessons, wrestling also teaches kids discipline, dedication and determination

For the young athletes aspiring to play football, this is the best out of season training you can do! Wrestling teaches us agility, flexibility, body awareness, hand fighting, leverage, anticipation of your opponent’s movement and best of all, it teaches self-defense!

This season our program will be lead by Coach Michael Lane. Coach Lane wrestled for Farmington HS and finished his career wrestling at Central Michigan University. Coach Lane brings many years of experience to the youth level. He has coached Hartland’s Youth Program as well as the South Lyon “Mat Cats”. We are happy to have him join our Novi family.
