The Novi Girls and Boys track teams ran all four-person boy-girl-boy-girl Relays Saturday at the 38th annual Balawajder Classic Coed Relay Meet. Wildcat teams scored in eleven of the fifteen relay events, and the team finished 9th. Milford High School hosted the meet, featuring some of the best teams in the area, in uncommonly benign Michigan-in-April weather conditions.
Nate Lyon set a Personal Record and Scott Sawyer jumped 14 feet to help the Widcats win the Pole Vault Relay. Both short sprint Relays and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay also placed in the top 3: the 4×100 Meter Relay (Sean Pitcher, Ally Pringle, Nathan Hankerson, Kayla Savage), the 4×200 Meter Relay (Savage, Nisarg Dharia, Pringle, Hankerson), and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay(Taylor Stone, Hunter Joy, John Stefan, Ally Pringle).
Some individuals recorded season-best efforts as part of a relay: Gabe Mudel (9:26 3200m), Scott Macpherson (4:26.99 1600m), Nate Wood (1:57.97 800m), John Landy (2:01.61 800m), Blair Mayes (53.8 400m), Taylor Stone (63.9 400m), Rachel Stone (66.5 400m), Aaron Baird (52.2 400m), and Sommer Isley (16 ft Long Jump).
Also scoring for Novi: 12800 Meter Relay (Mudel, Reese Green, Trey Mullins, Katherine Ray), 6400 Meter Relay (Macpherson, Saranya Nistala, Aric Landy, Katherine Ray), 3200 Meter Relay (Wood, Pearl Kurian, Landy, Heather Blair), Sprint Medley Relay (Taylor Stone, Leon Chen, Savage, Baird), Shot/Disc 4×200 Meter Relay, Shot Put Relay, High Jump Relay.
