The Varsity Golf team defended their title at the Lober Classic on Thursday at Grand Traverse resort.
After the first day of competition, the girls shot an impressive 328 team score. Alexa Hatz led the Wildcats with a 74, followed by Leah Kiura with a 79, Abby Livingston with an 82, and Lauren Henry with a 93. Also playing for the Wildcats were Despina Alexander who shot a 98 and Kirsten Kroetsch with a 117.
After trailing by 4 strokes after the first day of competition to Midland Dow, the Wildcats were able to gain some ground on their competitors by shooting a team score of 330, finalizing their team score of 658. They were able to beat Midland Dow by 3 strokes overall. They finished 1st in Division 1 and 1st overall.
Alexa Hatz finished the second day of competition with a 75 and a 149 total overall. She ended up in 5th place overall and was a part of the All-Tournament Team for the Wildcats. Also scoring for the Wildcats were Abby Livingston (80), Lauren Henry (87), Leah Kiura (88), Despina Alexander (107) and Anna Biberstein (110).
The girls compete next at Twin Lakes Golf Club at the Troy Invite.
